On 25th September 2018, at the seat of the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin, an Agreement on mutual cooperation in the provision of scientific and research services was signed between PDH Polska S.A. and the Faculty of Technology and Chemical Engineering. The ceremony of signing the document was attended by representatives of the Polish company: Vice President of the Management Board Władysław Madej, Production Director Dr. Marcin Palczyński and Process Engineer Dr. Marta Staniszewska, while the university unit was represented by the Dean of the Faculty Prof. Dr. Ryszard Kaleńczuk, Director of the Polymer Institute Prof. Dr. Mirosława El Fray, Eng. Mirosława El Fray, and the Vice-Dean for General and Science Dr. Rafał Rakoczy.
The agreement, the scope of which concerns expert and training services, aspects of mutual support in the implementation of projects as well as basic and industrial research, conducting activities in raising funds for the implementation of innovative scientific and development activities and the dissemination and commercialisation of the results obtained, is aimed at long-term building the value of both entities through the transfer of knowledge and skills between the scientific and research sphere and the business sphere, which in the future will translate into scientific, technological and technical progress.
The "Polymery Police" project implemented by PDH Polska S.A. - the special purpose vehicle of Grupa Azoty, the largest domestic chemical concern - of strategic importance for both the capital group and industry - is the largest investment project in the Polish chemical sector in recent years, covering an industrial complex consisting of facilities for the production of propylene and polypropylene, a port, a raw material tank base and auxiliary and logistic infrastructure.
Taking into account the scale of the "Police Polymers" project, one of the major challenges, apart from the construction and commissioning of the installation, will be, among others, the acquisition of qualified industry specialists and the construction of competencies necessary for the effective operation of the entire complex. The activities of PDH Polska S.A. are also aimed at creating an innovative company with high competitiveness, oriented at high requirements of polypropylene products recipients.
