Polymers Police in preparation for the integrity test, are already producing propylene and polypropylene and are selling to an authorized distribution network and direct customers

Products manufactured at the Police plant have passed the tests and are available for sale. As planned, the Company's product portfolio is being expanded until it reaches the target production of more than 30 types of Gryfilen® polypropylene, including homopolymers, random copolymers and impact copolymers. The introduction of new product types is taking place gradually, according to a planned schedule, as positive product validation is achieved, both on the production side and processing validation at customers' sites.

The installations of the new plant have already produced the first types of Polypropylene, the first two of which are on regular sale:

  • Gryfilen® H04-L dedicated to the production of cords and strapping,
  • Gryfilen® H03-N dedicated to the production of rigid packaging by thermoforming technology, also for food contact,
  • Gryfilen® H03-F dedicated to the production of BOPP films.

The products are sold to direct customers and through a network of authorized distributors.

Grupa Azoty Polyolefins plans to realize production at a stable average of up to 70% of nominal capacity in the first quarter of 2024, in order to increase it by the end of the third quarter and reach the maximum capacity planned for the entire complex of the new plant, says Tomasz Hinc, CEO of Azoty Group S.A.

The logistics infrastructure is fully ready for operational activities. Test moves for pneumatic transport, packaging and bagging machines and palletizing machines have been successfully carried out. The Interim Acceptance Protocol for the Polypropylene Logistics Infrastructure was signed on December 27, 2023. The company has concluded and is executing contracts for all strategic raw materials and utilities necessary for polypropylene production.

The next expected milestone, as of September 2023, is the successful completion of the 3-day Integrity Test by General Contractor Hyundai Engineering Co. In accordance with the project schedule updated in November 2023, the General Contractor has announced the test of all installations with confirmation of the achieved guaranteed parameters in Q1 2024," said Wojciech Blew, acting CEO of Grupa Azoty Polyolefins S.A..

The Integrity Test means a joint test of specific so-called Guaranteed Parameters of all sub-projects aimed at verifying that all sub-projects together function continuously and free of defects and faults.
