On Thursday, December 22nd, the Guadalupe Explorer gas tanker delivered the first 22,000 tonnes of propane, which will be loaded into propane tanks of the Offshore Gas Terminal built as part of the Polimery Police investment project, to be then used to start up the propane dehydrogenation and polypropylene production units. The delivery is being made under a USD 250m propane purchase agreement with Trafigura PTE Ltd. The agreement satisfies more than 50% of Grupa Azoty Polyolefins’ demand for propane in 2023-2024.
Grupa Azoty S.A., Grupa Azoty Zakłady Chemiczne Police, Grupa Azoty Polyolefins and the Police Seaport were among the signatories of a letter of intent to build the West Pomeranian Hydrogen Valley. The companies expressed their intent to forge a partnership and take steps to build and advance a hydrogen economy, with a particular focus on the Province of Szczecin. This marks another initiative supporting the development of a hydrogen economy the Grupa Azoty Group has engaged in as one of the leading fertilizer and chemical companies in Europe and the largest hydrogen producer in Poland.
The Supervisory Board of the Company announces the commencement of the qualification procedure for Vice-President of the Management Board (the "Member of the Management Board") of Grupa Azoty Polyolefins S.A. with its seat in Police at Kuźnicka 1 ("Company").
Gryfilen is new brand name for polypropylene that will be produced by Grupa Azoty Polyolefins S.A.. The company unveiled its new branding during the largest plastics industry trade K fair 2022 in Düsseldorf. The name Gryfilen refers to the historical traditions of the region in which the company operates.
The group of projects selected for funding by the European Union includes one submitted by the Police port, which is part of the Grupa Azoty Group. The project ‘Strengthening of the comprehensive network by increasing the accessibility and efficiency of the port in Police’ includes the construction of a railway node with the necessary technical infrastructure as part of the construction of railway line No. 437 to the Police seaport. The planned work will improve the port’s accessibility from the shore and sea and will increase its handling capacity. The development of the port will increase the potential of the Grupa Azoty Group, including its largest investment project Polimery Police.
The Contract provides for comprehensive maintenance services for the petrochemical complex being built under the Polimery Police project located in Police, comprising a PDH unit, a PP unit, a handling and storage terminal, auxiliary units, PP logistics infrastructure, and all equipment, infrastructure, site development and other elements necessary for its proper operation.
